    Hammered Copper Skillets

2mm Solid Copper. Built for Precision.

Serious cooks know — control changes everything.

The Sertodo Hammered Copper Skillet combines traditional 2mm heavy-gauge copper construction with modern ergonomic innovation. The result is a pan that performs beautifully and feels balanced in your hand.

    Classic. Functional. Built for generations.

    Why 2mm Copper Matters

    Thickness equals performance.

    At 2mm, this skillet delivers:

    • Exceptional heat conductivity

    • Even cooking with no hot spots

    • Instant temperature responsiveness

    • Minimal preheating time

Whether you’re sautéing vegetables, searing steak, stir-frying, or pan-frying eggs, this skillet reacts immediately to your adjustments.

    Traditional Tin Interior

The hot-tinned lining provides the classic, naturally non-stick cooking surface prized for centuries.

    Perfect for:

    • Eggs and delicate proteins

    • Sauces and reductions

    • Controlled browning

    • Low-to-medium heat cooking

A Handle in a Class of Its Own

Sertodo’s patented handle design sets these skillets apart:

    • Lightweight and balanced

    • Ergonomic for better control

    • Stays cooler while cooking

    • Reduces overall pan weight

Stainless steel countersunk rivets sit flush to the interior, creating a smooth cooking surface with no food traps.

    Available Sizes

    • 8-inch skillet

    • 10-inch skillet

Compatible lids from Sertodo’s Copper Stock Pots and Copper Sauté Pans also fit these skillets — adding versatility to your kitchen.

    Built to Last

The hand-hammering process doesn’t just create shine — it work-hardens the copper, increasing durability and strength.

    These aren’t decorative pans.
    They’re lifetime tools.

Backed by a craftsmanship guarantee for life.

From stovetop to tabletop — this is cookware that performs and presents.

    Care Instructions
    • Wash with mild soap and warm water after each use.
    • Dry immediately with a soft cloth to help prevent water spotting.
    • Water spots can occur due to natural trace minerals found in tap water.
    • Over time, copper may develop a soft matte patina — a natural finish many people appreciate.
    • If you prefer the original bright shine, it can be easily restored with a quick copper polish.
    • Copper is designed to age beautifully — maintain the shine or embrace the patina.

What Makes Sertodo Special To Us

Sertodo Copper was founded by Jonathan Beall, whose journey began in 1997 selling handcrafted copper throughout the United States from the back of his truck, affectionately named El Macho. His path led him to Santa Clara del Cobre in the Sierra Madre Occidental of Michoacán, where he apprenticed for two years under Maestro Maximo and Maestro Chema, learning a copper-working tradition that spans more than 1,000 years.

After completing his apprenticeship, Jonathan partnered with Maximo’s eldest son, Martin, to build a workshop rooted in respect for craft, family, and heritage. What started as a simple dirt-floor, two-person space has grown into a thriving copper studio — but the commitment to traditional craftsmanship, integrity, and community remains unchanged.

We love Sertodo because it represents true artisan lineage: heritage techniques preserved through apprenticeship, relationships built on trust, and copperware made with purpose and pride — exactly the kind of story and substance that belongs at My American Goods.

    Sertodo FAQs

    What products does Sertodo offer?

Sertodo makes hand-forged copperware and kitchen tools, including copper pots and pans, hammers, charcuterie tools, chef accessories, and durable cookware essentials.

Are Sertodo products made in the USA?

Sertodo copper goods are designed and finished in Austin, Texas, and handcrafted by skilled artisans in both the USA and Mexico using traditional copperworking techniques.

This approach allows Sertodo to preserve centuries-old craftsmanship while maintaining the quality and design standards rooted in their Texas-based operation.

Every piece is made from 100% recycled copper and crafted in small batches for lasting durability and character.

    Why cook with copper?

Copper provides superior heat conductivity and precise temperature control, making it ideal for professional chefs and serious home cooks.

    Is Sertodo cookware lined?

Many Sertodo cookware pieces are tin-lined for safe cooking performance, while some items are pure copper for bar or decorative use. Always follow product specifications.

How do I care for copper cookware?

Hand wash only. To maintain shine, polish occasionally. Natural patina over time is normal and does not affect performance.

Is Sertodo copperware good for gifting?

Yes — Sertodo pieces are heirloom-quality gifts for weddings, housewarmings, chefs, and cocktail enthusiasts who value craftsmanship and longevity.

This copper skillet features "impressive conductivity" with fast heat transfer and beautiful hand-hammered craftsmanship. Customers praised the cool-touch handle and even heating for excellent browning. However, it requires special care: low-medium heat only to protect tin lining, never heat empty, and needs ample oil. Some find the single handle awkward for the weight.

    • It transfers heat really fast, making our breakfast easy and fast.
    • This is the most beautiful and durable pan, I have ever used. Highly recommended!
    • It's beautiful pan inside and out. The handle is excellent because it stays cool.

Great pan, requires skill and care to use properly

This is a very nice quality tinned copper pan at a great price point. It’s got good weight but it’s not overbearing and the handle is excellent because it stays cool and is easy to hang from a pot rack. It’s beautiful pan inside and out. The hammer work looks cool but can collect overcooked food if you’re not careful. If you have never used a pan like this, it takes some careful experience to get top results and non-stick performance and not destroy the tin lining.I not a pro chef but I’ve been cooking almost everyday for over 45 years. I’ve tried almost every frying pan brand and style you can name.Along the way, I have experience with both plain stainless, carbon steel, titanium (Hestan nanobond) and Lodge cast iron pans as well as all manner of nonstick pans from CIA, All Clad, Falk, Demeyre, Kila and Hestan to name a few. This Sertodo copper pan is just different. Never heat it up empty, always have oil or butter in the pan. The tin coating can melt between 400 and 450 degrees with the pan empty. Don’t overheat! The tin likes a lot of butter or oil. I use extra virgin olive oil mostly. The Sertodo is NOT a searing pan - it can’t take the heat. Use a Hestan Nanobond titanium or cast iron for high heat, searing or blackening.I’m using 1/2 the heat for the Sertodo that I normally use for a non-stick pan and I never leave the Sertodo unattended when it’s over heat.See the photos of the tin just starting to darken up - that’s normal. The copper will patina nicely or clean up shiny if you want. As you can see, I have a LOT of pans. The copper outside cleans up nicely with inexpensive Barkeepers pot cleaner. Don’t clean the tin inside other than with a soft sponge and soap. If you get food stuck, fill with pan with water and dish soap and warm the water on a stove for 10 minutes. It will wipe clean.Once you get than hang of this pan, it makes awesome omelettes. If you don’t have the patience for this sort of routine, work with non-stick pans. Hope this helps!

This is the most beautiful and durable pan, I have ever used. Highly recommended!

As a classically trained Chef, I tend to gravitate towards durable products. This pan is just amazing. The craftsmanship is remarkable. The fact that you can see the hand hammering marks, makes you connect to the artist seeing their vision for this product.I use it daily for my breakfast; sweet potato hash has never had such a great GDB (Golden Delicious Brown). Copper heats up evenly making it very easy to sear or brown your food.  The handles, wow!! Such an elegant design and so practical. I take this to my catering gigs and it is always a conversation started. I need the rest of the cooking line ASAP! This pan is great, it is worth every cent. Looking forward to seeing what else this company makes in the future.

I like the double handled paella pans better

The pan itself is excellent as are all Sertado pans that I've ever purchased.I find however that well this is the essentially identical pan to the 10-in paella pan the handle on this is not comfortable to hold whereas the double handles on the paella pan make that a breeze to hold and maneuver.it's a little heavy for this handle on one side only like a light skillet would have

Great but things you need to know...

    1. It's beautiful and the handle never gets hot.2. Keep the heat low, you don’t want to bubble the tin.3. Coat the pan with lard and use plenty of olive oil.4. Preheat the pan with oil in it before adding food so it won't stick.
