Light Hold and Soft Texture for Hair or Beard
Loyal Sea Clay Styling Balm combines the easy feel of a leave-in conditioner with light styling control. The lightweight aloe-based balm softens the look of flyaways, adds touchable texture, and keeps hair comfortably directed without a stiff finish.
Why You’ll Love It
- Light, flexible hold: creates relaxed shape with natural movement.
- Conditioning balm texture: smooths easily through hair without feeling heavy.
- Multi-use styling: works in short, medium, or long hair and doubles as a beard balm.
- Bergamot and rosemary scent: crisp citrus balanced by fresh herbal notes.
Best For
Use Loyal for loose tousled looks, controlled flyaways, soft side sweeps, longer hair, and neatly finished beards. It is especially useful when polish matters more than firm hold.
What Makes It Different?
This is an approachable, everyday styling balm that prioritizes touchable softness and versatility across hair lengths and grooming routines.
How to use
Warm a small amount between your palms and smooth through damp or dry hair. Use less for fine hair. For beards, work a small amount from roots to ends.

What is processing time?
Processing time is the period between placing your order and the package being handed to the shipping carrier.
Most orders are processed within 2–5 business days, Monday–Friday excluding holidays.
During this time, your item may be picked, prepared, produced, finished, assembled, personalized, packed, or otherwise made ready for shipment.
Shipping time does not include processing time. Carrier transit begins after processing is complete and the package has been accepted for shipment.
Where does my order ship from?
My American Goods® uses a hybrid fulfillment model.
- Some products are stocked and shipped directly by My American Goods.
- Other products ship directly from the independent American brand or maker.
This allows us to offer a much broader selection of American-made products while supporting the independent businesses that make them.
Why might my order arrive in multiple packages?
Products in the same order may ship from different fulfillment locations.
As a result, items may:
- Ship on different days
- Arrive in separate packages
- Have different tracking numbers
- Use different shipping carriers or services
Receiving one package does not necessarily mean the rest of your order is missing.
How are shipping rates calculated?
Because products may ship from different makers and fulfillment locations, shipping rates can vary by product or brand.
- Some products or brands qualify for free shipping above a specific threshold.
- Other products may use flat-rate or carrier-calculated shipping.
- Products shipping from separate locations may generate separate shipping charges.
The applicable shipping cost is shown before your order is completed.
When will I receive tracking?
Tracking information is emailed once your item has been prepared and shipped.
For handmade, made-to-order, pre-order, or specialty products, tracking may not be available until the applicable preparation or production period is complete.
If the expected processing period for your item has passed and you have not received a shipping update, please contact us.
Carrier delays & missing packages
After a package has been accepted by USPS, UPS, FedEx, or another shipping carrier, transit may be affected by weather, holidays, peak-volume periods, transportation disruptions, or other carrier conditions outside our control.
Shipping and delivery timelines are estimates unless expressly stated otherwise.
If tracking shows Delivered but you cannot locate the package, check:
- Household members
- Neighbors
- Porches, side doors, garages, and other delivery areas
- Parcel lockers or building mailrooms
Carrier scans can occasionally appear shortly before final delivery. If the package still cannot be located, we can assist with a carrier investigation.
Shipping address accuracy
Please review your shipping address carefully before completing your order.
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.
Packages returned because of an incorrect, incomplete, or undeliverable address may require additional shipping charges before they can be sent again.

I ordered this for my son who has medium length, thin hair. It usually gets in his face/eyes more often than not so I was hoping to find something similar to gel, but less sticky to tame the flyaway locks of hair.First of all I think this smells absolutely wonderful. It's not overly strong but fragrant enough to be noticable. It's a fresh scent and doesn't smell perfumey or chemical in nature. In fact the amber, bergamot and rosemary beautifully complement each other. The balm has a greenish tint but once in the hair it blends in without being noticeable at all. My son has dark blond hair and there is no sign of the green hue of the balm in his hair.It has a smooth, soft texture and not much is needed. It is easy to apply and does a good job of keeping hairs in place without weighing the hair down. I personally have not noticed it have a gritty or sandy texture as another review mentioned but that might be due to temperature storage conditions. Not sure but it has a similar texture to soft butter without the grease.Best of all it's not sticky and doesn't leave any residue in the hair such as flakes or particles like other hair products can do. It isn't waxy nor does it make the hair look or feel oily either. The balm is also simple to rinse or wash out.I appreciate the clean ingredients (99% natural ingredients). Plus the presentation is cute and it comes in an amber tinted glass jar and design. It doesn't dry out the hair leaving it straw looking and depending on if you wear a hat (or roll around on the carpet or couch as my son does) then the balm should keep your hair styled for the better part of the day.Overall I am impressed with this pomade and would definitely order another when the time comes. I even use this myself on my long hair sometimes and I usually avoid hair styling products as they usually make it look greasy or reduce any volume. It is effective and does a great job holding your hair in place without the negatives of wax, gel or creams. The price is a wee bit high but it is a small business and they obviously have put a lot of effort into making this a high quality product. I have used this daily for weeks on my son's hair (as well as my own at times) and as you can see from my photo, there is still a lot left.I know I mentioned the scent but it really is one of my favorite scents I've smelled for a hair or even skin product. I wish I could find air freshener that smelled just like this as I'd buy it. Definitely not medicinal imo, but invigorating.
I think I may have been using this wrong at first. I didn’t warm it up in my hands enough, so instead of smoothing flyaways, I ended up with small grayish bits in my hair and not much hold. If you rub it until it softens and use a tiny amount, you’ll likely get better results. In terms of ease of use, it takes a bit of technique, but once you figure it out, it seems straightforward. Effectiveness for me was limited, but that may come down to application. It does feel lightweight and not overly greasy when used sparingly, which is a plus. The scent is herbal with a slightly medicinal note. Washability seems fine since it doesn’t feel heavy, and a little goes a long way, so longevity should be good. I also appreciate the natural ingredients and the amber glass jar, which makes the product feel more thoughtfully made.
I’ve tried a lot of different pomades and gooey hair gels over the years, and most of them leave my hair feeling like a stiff board or looking like I dipped my hair in glue. I picked up this Shear Revival Loyal Styling Balm because I wanted something more natural and I’ve gotta say, it’s exactly what I was looking for. It’s definitely a light hold—so don't expect it to keep a mohawk standing up in a hurricane. But if you are looking for a balm that allows you to run your hands through your hair and still feel good, then this is perfect.Plus, the fact that it’s almost 100% natural makes me feel a lot better about putting it on my scalp. As you may have imagined, cavemen LOVE organic and natural products. It’s got a really nice, clean scent that doesn't scream "cheap cologne" that will attract a grizzly.PROS:(1) Natural Finish: It doesn't look like you have "product" in your hair. It just looks healthy and stays where you put it.(2) Great Scent: The Bergamot and Rosemary combo is awesome. It’s fresh and subtle, not overpowering.(3) No Gunk: Since it’s 99% natural, it washes out super easily. No need to scrub your scalp raw to get it off.(4) Perfect for Travel: The 3.4oz jar is the sweet spot. It fits right in my carry-on without any trouble from airport security.(5) Soft Texture: It’s more of a balm than a wax, so it’s really easy to work into your hair without pulling or snagging.CONS:(1) Very Light Hold: If you have super thick or unruly hair and want a tight style, this might be a little too light for you.(2) The Price Tag: It’s a bit pricier than the stuff you find at the grocery store, but you’re paying for the quality ingredients.(3) Needs Re-applying: On a long, active day, you might find yourself needing a quick touch-up by the afternoon.Overall, this is my new go-to for daily basic sryling/taming. It’s easy, it smells great, and it doesn't make my hair feel stiff & gross. If you’re looking for a natural, low-maintenance look, you can’t go wrong with this.
I've been a fan of Shear Revival for some time now. Most of what I've used from them has been very good quality. A few things haven't been the best for my hair style, but thats my fault for trying them. This pomade should be treated more like a hair gel in its application, although it appears to be a clay-like consistency at first. It applies smoothly to damp hair, feels soft upon initial application, and styles with a medium hold. It appears to be water based, so it washes out in the shower easily. I haven't had any issues cleaning it out, which unfortunately has been an issue on some other pomades in the past. So this is a nice plus that I don't have to worry about finding it out anymore. It smells very pleasant too. A rosemary, bergamot scent. Very hard to describe but it's definitely nice smelling. The jar it comes in is glass too, not that that's super important, but it definitely makes it feel more premium in my opinion. The ingredients are mostly naturally derived too. Overall this is a great choice for an everyday pomade and I highly recommend anything from Shear Revival
I have quickly become a big fan of Shear Revival products, as their Northern Lights is my favorite hair product to use. But I was curious to try this 'Loyal', with a supposedly low hold. The hold actually isn't bad at all, despite being their lowest hold product. It's very 'creamy' and easy to apply, rather than a matte paste or clay which will be firmer. You are supposed to apply to towel-dried hair, not wet, but not dry. I am not a big fan of this particular scent, which is Bergamot, Amber & Rosemary. Scent is very subjective, though, so even though I do not like it, many others will probably like it just fine. The scent definitely hangs around with you the rest of the day, I've found, and doesn't really dissipate. I think you would have to wash out this product before bed, or you may get the scent on your bedding/pillow cases. But that's a good rule of thumb for any hair product. I have tried this in shorter hair (pic) and longer hair, and it works well in both. It leaves a bit of a shine, and looks nice!Another big positive about these Shear Revival products is they come in 3.4oz jars, where their competitors at the same price generally offer 2oz jars. So not only are Shear Revival's products superior, in my opinion, but you get almost double the amount for the same price as you would buying another brand. Plus, they use natural ingredients, which is nice, as I don't like putting chemically stuff in my hair.Northern Lights will still be my go-to, but I like Loyal, other than the scent (again, subjective). I may give it to a hair-stylist friend to use.
A hair pomade that starts as almost a solid.A balm. At first I was a little leery to put in my hair, feared it would be like waxy clumps. Reminds me of a solid lip gloss. But it seems to melt in your hands, starting with a small dab. Warm it in your hands while rubbing together, and distribute through your hair, where wanting it. Actually is light on hair, not a crunchy cast. That holds. Appreciate it's more natural ingredients like aloe, meadowfoam seed oil and sea clay. Plus a mango butter with rosemary, bergamot and amber for a unique light scent. Seems to add a bit of shine. Feels a bit restorative- moisturizing to help control friz. Good for helping hold sides back. Nice little jar full at just over three ounces. Would be easy to travel with.
Finding a hair product that balances performance with truly clean ingredients is often a trade-off, but the Shear Revival Loyal Styling Balm is a rare exception. As someone who prioritizes a lifestyle free from artificial additives, I find this 99% natural formula to be an essential addition to my grooming routine. It manages to deliver a polished look without the chemical "crunch" or synthetic fragrance found in mainstream alternatives.Performance and ApplicationThe balm offers a sophisticated light hold that focuses on control and definition rather than rigid structure. It has a creamy, buttery consistency that breaks down effortlessly in the palms, making application smooth and snag-free.The natural finish is exactly as described—it doesn't add an oily sheen, nor does it leave the hair looking dull or matte; it simply looks healthy and well-maintained.It excels at taming flyaways and adding a subtle weight to the hair that helps it fall into place naturally.Because it is water-based, it washes out completely with a single rinse, leaving no buildup or residue behind.Ingredient Quality and ScentThe commitment to natural ingredients is where this product truly shines. The formula relies on plant-based waxes and oils rather than petroleum or synthetic polymers. The scent profile of Bergamot, Amber, and Rosemary is exceptional. It is grounding and herbal, lacking the cloying sweetness of artificial perfumes. The fragrance is noticeable during application but settles into a clean, understated aroma that doesn't compete with other scents.Versatility and PackagingThe 3.4oz glass jar is sturdy and travel-friendly, adhering to most carry-on regulations. While marketed toward all hair types, it is particularly effective for those seeking a "no-product" look. It works beautifully on medium to long hair for added flow, or on shorter styles for effortless texture. If you value transparency in labeling and a high-performance, minimalist aesthetic, this balm is a definitive five-star product.
I've tried some other Shear Revival products and I'm already becoming a huge fan of this brand. The packaging is of eco-friendly, quality materials. The ingredients are plant-based and very natural. Rosemary is super beneficial for stimulating new hair growth, so to have those benefits built in to my styling products is a big boon.I do think this balm is better suited to shorter and/or curly hair because of its properties, but I find using a small amount worked well into my palms then lightly smoothed through my long, straight hair makes it more manageable to style and leaves my hair softer and lighter than some other products in my cabinet. It offers a loose hold without the feeling of build up.I'd say the fragrance is unisex, especially if you're a lady who leans towards muskier, more natural scents.Because the formula isn't loaded with chemicals, it's a little on the pricier side, but I think the value and quality match the cost.
The media could not be loaded.
This product has a very distinct “smells like my grandpa” smell, I’d describe it like a whisky: very aromatic woodsy notes, might even say it’s musky. Like all of their products, the ingredients list makes you feel like you’re putting something clean and natural on your body. This product has a loose but still noticeable hold with none of the crunchiness of a gel. My hair still feels natural and light with a subtle shine. For my hair, I usually use a firmer hold, but it still does a decent job of holding my natural curls/waves and keeping it out of my eyes.I absolutely love the hand feel of the packaging itself, a quality tinted thick glass jar with an easy-to-thread metal lid. They really don’t skimp on the packaging and that dedication to quality definitely continues with the product itself.
This product works like a leave in conditioner, very nourishing and a little bit of hold. Leaves a nice natural shine as well. I use this on my off days when I’m going for a more relaxed look. I have curly hair usually styled in a curly flow/modern mullet. I recommend their other product Little Eden(oil based clay)if you want the same look but more hold which is what I use for work & when I want a more cleaned up/professional look.
I was looking for an alternative to the Highland Glacial Clay Cream stuff that I love. I would always buy the Highland Glacial Cream, but wanted something a little more smooth/moist, but still non-greasy. This is it! If Highland made a third styling product that was a step below the cream, two steps below the pomade, this would be the product. It barely weighs down your hair, you don't need much product to do the job, and it smells nice as well. So many products use "fragrance," which ends up obliterating my sense of smell for the day. It's nice to see that they only use basic essential oils instead. The scent isn't super subtle, but it's not atrociously overpowering. I was also worried that maybe the beeswax would make it a pain in the rear to wash out of my hair, but it isn't at all.The one strange thing is that it says it has “sea clay,” but the actual jar label says “kaolin clay.” It doesn’t change the fact that it’s great, I just think they should specify that.
My husband is currently using a different product from Sheer Revival and we decided to try this styling balm. The texture reminded me of clay but not so thick of course. The scent is very natural and not overpowering. The hold is moderate, I think it’s great to take short hair if you have frizzy, unruly hair.
For me, I have long hair, down to my shoulders, I was looking for something that was easy to apply, with a tiny bit of hold and healthy for the hair. Something that will held me put my hair up and keep the fly aways down. It does a fairly nice job with all the above, decent at keeping the fly aways down. Application, it’s ok, like a 3 out of 5. Not as easy as a styling cream, but hold is better. Scent is oook, it’s on the strong side
This is by far the best styling cream my husband has ever used. It smells amazing and not overwhelming doesn’t make the hair gross and the price is good, also shipped fast.
I’ve been using this styling balm regularly, and it’s a solid option if you want a light hold with a natural finish. It’s easy to work into the hair and doesn’t feel heavy or greasy. It works well for looser styles or just keeping things in place, especially if you don’t want that stiff overly styled look.It also does a good job helping with frizz and flyaways without making your hair feel crunchy. It has a nice hold that lasts all day.The scent is noticeable but not overpowering with more of a clean slightly warm and earthy scent that fades nicely.I like that it can also double as a beard balm, which makes it a versatile product. The jar is a good size for travel and a little goes a long way.I think that this is a great everyday styling product that’s simple, natural-looking results, and easy to use.
It has completely transformed my hair routine. The texture is smooth and easy to work with, and it provides just the right amount of hold without feeling heavy or greasy. My hair looks sleek, shiny, and effortlessly styled every time I use it. Plus, it doesn't leave any residue or buildup, which is a huge plus. Whether I’m going for a casual look or something more polished, this balm is my go-to product
Light to almost no fragrance, easy to wash out, and super easy application -- really soft and almost fluffy texture (like a whipped cream). I use this to hold my 2A-2B waves after doing the plop method and I blow dry my hair. It's not super heavy (there are some pomades/creams/gels that feel really sticky or greasy, but this is rather light). I don't use it everyday, but just when I want an extra bounce in my hair. Recommended!
This review is for “ Shear Revival Loyal Styling Balm Pomade for Men & Women - Light Hold, Natural Finish for All Hair Types, 99% Natural Ingredients, Bergamot, Amber & Rosemary Scent, Travel Friendly 3.4oz” Smells lovely, neither masculine nor feminine. Just pleasant. Soft, flexible hold, not greasy. Washes out easily. Good for shorter hair, it weighs down longer lengths.
Overall, it's an ok product. The scent is a little strong but not overwhelming. The product is light and not sticky, nor does it make my hair look greasy or wet. The hold is not great, but the product is advertised as having a light hold, so that's what you should expect anyway. I typically use a clay, so this experience is a little different. And I think I'm learning that I need a stronger hold. But this pomade does what it says on the tin.
