Nice natural feeling cream, but requires a lot to give me any hold and I wanted more shine so the Younger Days product became my go-to product for the daily grind while this is good for more casual days.*Added the Shine/Hold graphic from the Shear Revival site which I found useful, however my scoring is a little different from what they claim.

This is a great pomade and has a really nice smell,but not an overpowering one. Washes easily and would buy again.

This is my non-negotiable, must-have, everyday pomade. The hold is right in the middle where I need it and the shine is super mild so I don’t look like a greaseball. I get this as gifts for friends. Delivery is always easy too.

My wife recommended switching to something nontoxic, and I’m so glad I found this. It styles my hair really well without feeling heavy, and it’s actually helped calm down my scalp irritation. The scent is nice and subtle, and my wife even uses it to smooth her hair out too. We’re both happy with it and will definitely be ordering again!

It took me a few tries to figure out how to use it. I think I also just wasn’t using enough. What’s great about it is that it’s a versatile product.If you want lots of hold and texture, use it sparingly and in dry hair.You can still get great hold and a slicker look if you apply more liberally and to damp hair.As you work it through your hair it gets softer and more malleable.Finally, it just smells fantastic. It’s easy to wash out, and you can feel good about leaving it in your hair and building up for a day or two if you don’t want to shampoo too often.Definitely worth your money to have in your arsenal of styling products.

Have been buying Shear Revival products for a while but this one is probably one of the best. Has lasted me for months. Great hold. Just the right amount of shine, not to much. Would definitely recommend.

This product is exactly as advertised. Mostly vegan, no harsh chemicals, “mindfully made.” The packaging is superb: glass jar, upscale label. The name is a movie reference, as are all Shear Revival’s products.Very nice consistency out of the jar — has the consistency of grease, but creamier — stiffer than, say, hand cream. Easy to scoop out, feels good on the hands with just enough “waxiness” to give it the required “heft.” The smell is citrus, maybe lemony? and herbal, like a forest. It’s quite nice! Not overpowering, but definitely there. It doesn’t linger too long in the hair, that I’ve noticed.It’s easy to work into the hair without pulling — again, the waxiness letting you know that there’s some body to the product. The shine is a medium shine, but more of a healthy, natural sheen, rather than a greased-up look (thanks to the castor oil). It leaves the hair soft, manageable, and easy to style. Holding power seems as good as any product I’ve tried.If I had to compare it to other products, it compares to the consistency of Aveda pomade, but the scent is more on the order of American Crew pomade. But the result is less shiny — really more matte than either of those. This pomade has more waxiness (thanks to the beeswax) than either, and it feels more controllable in the application.My hair and scalp feel nice with this product — no heaviness, and the aloe helps the scalp feel good, too.This product is full of all kinds of things that are good for hair and skin. I’m fairly skin-sensitive, and this product fits the bill for me.You’ll need shampoo to wash it out of the hair, but it does wash out easily.Costs a bit more, but that cost is worth the performance of the product and the honesty of its ingredients. This one’s a keeper for me!

Great moderate non stiff hold without looking like stuff is in your hair. Mild scent is pleasant.

Great stuff. Smell is good, just not in the typical arena of scents I would choose. That said, really fresh. Stuff washes out easily and doesn't rub off on clothing/pillow. Nor does it run down your face with sweat (in my experience). It's either this or Reuzel Fiber for me. I like this when hair is slightly longer (still very short by most standards), and the Reuzel Fiber I like with super short crew cut hair. I think Crystal Lake is overall the higher quality choice.

Excellent product! I have thin hair that is hard to style, but this held perfectly on my first try. It also smells nice and foresty. Absolutely recommend this.

I really like this hair pomade this is more suitable for people that don't like the feeling of hair gel in there hair I have been searching for a product that I can use for my hair and I finally found it you don't need much to style your hair theres some feeling of product in my hair but not as bad as other products I have used I would highly recommend it

I originally ordered a jar of the crystal lake when it first was released but for the life of me the pomade would NOT work with my hair. I have straight hair but the texture back then felt very greasy and firm AF while applying and that was the big issue I had with it a couple years ago. The application and the hold throughout the day was a bit of a nightmare. NOW, it was smoother to apply. The hold all day I remember it being about the same with WAY BETTER control while combing. The smell I believe is the same and I've always liked the sent. Also if your asking why I even decided to give crystal lake another go, it was because I follow this YouTuber name The Pomp and he for a while highly recommended crystal lake and I can agree with him. Crystal lake is now one of my go to pomades.

My husband really likes waterbased pomade because how easy they wash off hands and hair but find one with a good hold and isn't to feminine in scent is hard. This was had a light wood sent to it and is easy to wash. I have bought over 6 pomades in the last year for him and this is his favorite.

This stuff is awesome! The hold is a perfect medium,the scent is refreshing and what I love most is how it finishes. It never gets crunchy,it never flakes and it never gums up. Now,I’ve read some bad reviews and if you need a super strong water based pomade that will last for 12+ hours, that washes out with water then crystal lake probably isn’t for you but I’m not sure which product has all of that along with what you get from this one.

This is exactly what I needed. Made the jump from gel pomade, specifically suavecito for years. Crystal Lake has the hold I need for a slick hair style all day. If need be I can finger comb back into position when I’m out in the field or pocket comb restyle when I’ve got time. Do your research on pomades and understand what you are buying, this is an unorthodox water based pomade, which means you’ll need shampoo to wash it out completely or rinse and get amazing buildup for the next day. The scent is perfect and the health benefits for your hair leave it feeling fresh and soft when rinsed away.

I LOVE this pomade. Its not sticky or tacky like other ones. It spreads smoothly and evenly throughout my hair. It has a refreshingly light scent. And it holds pretty much all day. I've got thick hair, and this is just a medium hold. It's my go-to.

Very well-balanced unorthodox water base. Applies easily, with good control and doesn't harden too fast. Medium hold that lasts all day, even on the 30+ degrees Celsius humid ones. Has a slight waxy buildup after washing out and doesn't dry-out hair.

first time using a product like this. I've used layrite, suavacito, uppercut, lockharts matte clay, goon grease, imperial pomade. I was satisfied with this product and it has its own unique characteristics. It had a medium hold that would last through the day, i have very fine straight hair and it did the job with some hair spray added. The shine is low to medium. I did feel as if the product was harder to wash out than other water-based products.Overall great to use in a rotation of other products.

It's perfect, it sits in my hair and the product doesn't evaporate so it helps with all day styling, it's a little bit hard to scoop out of the jar but a few good scoops and you're set for the day, it's also easy to wash out since it is water based, by the far the best water based I've tried.

the best pomade available. I have long hair on top and medium to short hair on the sides. I usually slick back my hair and this product aways give me great results. although it can get pretty shiny, it doesn't over do it. The smell is not the best, but not the worst. The hold is just enough to hold it, but is still greatly malleable. Having the product sit overnight is actually another factor of this product. It gives a light hold and makes your hair feel well nourished.

Amazing. This is hands down the best water-based I have used for a non-hardening medium hold. It has a nice and easy to apply consistency (think Anchor's Teddy Boy Original), with a hold that can be re-combed throughout the day (think O'Douds Water Based). The smell is pleasant and not overwhelming at all. Washes out easy.If you're really trying to get a high hold and shine, it probably isn't for you. However, for a light/medium hold or a more natural loose style, its unbeatable.Not the cheapest out there, but really high quality product that I totally plan on purchasing again.
