    Size & Fit Guide

Find your best fit using Conscious Clothing's body size chart, then compare those measurements with the finished garment measurements shown on the individual product.

    Fit Tip
Start with your body measurements, then check the garment.

Conscious Clothing provides garment measurements for individual styles because cut, fabric, ease and intended fit can vary. Your usual size is a helpful starting point, but measurements provide the most reliable comparison.

    Straight Sizing
    XXS – XL

Use bust, waist and hip measurements to identify your starting size.

    Curvy Sizing
    1 – 6

Designed with additional consideration for a greater waist-to-hip difference.

    Best Fit
    Measure First

Compare your body and a favorite garment with the exact product measurements.

    Body Size Chart · XXS–6

Body measurements are in inches. These measurements are used to identify your general Conscious Clothing size.

    Important

This chart represents body measurements—not the dimensions of the clothing itself. Finished garment measurements may be larger because many garments include intentional ease for comfort, movement and drape.

    How to Measure Your Body

Use a flexible measuring tape over lightweight clothing. Keep the tape snug against your body, but do not pull it tight.

    Body Measurement Reference
    A B C D E F
    A

Bust: Measure under your armpits and around the fullest part of your chest.

    B

Waist: Measure between your ribcage and hip bone, generally around the narrowest part of your torso.

    C

Hips: Measure around the fullest area just below your hip bones, keeping the tape as level as possible.

    D

Inseam: Measure your inner leg from just below the crotch to the bottom of your ankle.

    E

Torso: Measure from your shoulder, over your bust and belly, down to the crotch.

    F

Bicep: Measure around the fullest part of your upper arm.

    Don't pull the tape tight

The tape should sit comfortably against your body so the measurement reflects how you actually want clothing to fit.

    No measuring tape?

Use string or ribbon, mark where the ends meet, then measure that length against a ruler or yardstick.

    How Specific Garments Are Measured

Finished garment measurements are taken from the clothing itself. The measurements needed depend on the type of garment.

    BUST WAIST HIP LENGTH INSEAM
    Jumpsuits

Common reference points include bust, waist, hip, total length and inseam.

BUST WAIST HIP BICEP LENGTH RISE INSEAM
    Shirts & Pants

Depending on the style, look for bust, waist, hip, bicep, length, rise and inseam measurements.

    BUST WAIST HIP LENGTH
    Dresses

Common reference points include bust, waist, hip and total garment length.

    Bust Width at chest
    Waist Waistline width
    Hip Fullest hip area
    Length Top-to-hem length
    Inseam Inner leg length
    Rise Waist-to-crotch
    Bicep Upper sleeve width
    Torso Shoulder-to-crotch
    Pro Tip

Measure a garment you already love. Lay a similar item flat and compare its measurements with the measurements listed for the Conscious Clothing style you're considering.

    Body vs. Garment Measurements

These numbers serve different purposes. Using both gives you the most useful picture of how a style is likely to fit.

    1 Body Measurements

Bust, waist and hip measurements from your own body help identify your general size using the chart above.

    2 Garment Measurements

These are measurements of the finished piece itself and may vary by style, fabric, cut and intended amount of ease.

    Understanding Ease

Garment measurements are often larger than body measurements. This is especially common with woven cotton and linen. Extra room allows the garment to move comfortably, go on and off easily, and drape as intended.

Fit Conscious · Straight & Curvy Sizing

Conscious Clothing is gradually introducing its Fit Conscious initiative to improve sizing consistency and fit across its collection.

    Straight Sizing

    XXS – XL

    Straight Fit

Designed for body shapes with a less pronounced difference between waist and hip measurements.

    Curvy Sizing

    Sizes 1 – 6

    Curvy Fit

Designed for a greater waist-to-hip difference, with additional consideration for room through the hips and thighs and a closer waistband fit.

Fit Conscious is still being rolled out. Not every Conscious Clothing style has been updated to this system yet. Always review the measurements and fit information shown on the individual product before selecting your size.
4 Tips for Choosing Your Best Fit
    1 · Measure yourself

Don't rely only on the size you normally wear from another brand.

2 · Check the individual style

Finished garment measurements can differ from one Conscious Clothing piece to another.

    3 · Consider the fabric

Stretch, structure and drape all affect how a garment feels on the body.

4 · Consider the intended fit

A relaxed or oversized piece should not be compared with a fitted garment in exactly the same way.

    Shipping details

    What is processing time?

Processing time is the period between placing your order and the package being handed to the shipping carrier.

Most orders are processed within 2–5 business days, Monday–Friday excluding holidays.

During this time, your item may be picked, prepared, produced, finished, assembled, personalized, packed, or otherwise made ready for shipment.

Shipping time does not include processing time. Carrier transit begins after processing is complete and the package has been accepted for shipment.

Where does my order ship from?

My American Goods® uses a hybrid fulfillment model.

    • Some products are stocked and shipped directly by My American Goods.
    • Other products ship directly from the independent American brand or maker.

This allows us to offer a much broader selection of American-made products while supporting the independent businesses that make them.

Why might my order arrive in multiple packages?

Products in the same order may ship from different fulfillment locations.

    As a result, items may:

    • Ship on different days
    • Arrive in separate packages
    • Have different tracking numbers
    • Use different shipping carriers or services

Receiving one package does not necessarily mean the rest of your order is missing.

    How are shipping rates calculated?

Because products may ship from different makers and fulfillment locations, shipping rates can vary by product or brand.

    • Some products or brands qualify for free shipping above a specific threshold.
    • Other products may use flat-rate or carrier-calculated shipping.
    • Products shipping from separate locations may generate separate shipping charges.

The applicable shipping cost is shown before your order is completed.

    When will I receive tracking?

Tracking information is emailed once your item has been prepared and shipped.

For handmade, made-to-order, pre-order, or specialty products, tracking may not be available until the applicable preparation or production period is complete.

If the expected processing period for your item has passed and you have not received a shipping update, please contact us.

    Carrier delays & missing packages

After a package has been accepted by USPS, UPS, FedEx, or another shipping carrier, transit may be affected by weather, holidays, peak-volume periods, transportation disruptions, or other carrier conditions outside our control.

Shipping and delivery timelines are estimates unless expressly stated otherwise.

If tracking shows Delivered but you cannot locate the package, check:

    • Household members
    • Neighbors
    • Porches, side doors, garages, and other delivery areas
    • Parcel lockers or building mailrooms

Carrier scans can occasionally appear shortly before final delivery. If the package still cannot be located, we can assist with a carrier investigation.

    Shipping address accuracy

Please review your shipping address carefully before completing your order.

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.

Packages returned because of an incorrect, incomplete, or undeliverable address may require additional shipping charges before they can be sent again.

Where does My American Goods ship?

My American Goods® currently ships within the United States only.

This page is a plain-language summary. Product-specific shipping information shown on the product page applies to that item. The Story behind Conscious Clothing

Conscious Clothing has been asking “Who made your clothes?” since long before slow fashion became a marketing phrase.

More than two decades ago, founder Rose Phillips couldn't find the organic clothing she wanted for her children, so she began making it herself. At the time, even sourcing organic cotton, hemp, and linen was difficult. Rose persisted, working with early producers and gradually building a clothing company around the belief that how something is made matters just as much as the finished garment.

That philosophy is still visible in Belmont, Michigan today. Conscious Clothing doesn't simply design garments domestically and send production somewhere else. A small team works together inside its own studio to design, cut, sew, wash, dye, screen print tags, finish, iron, package, and ship the clothing. The studio itself was built in 2015 using partly reclaimed and salvaged materials and includes dedicated spaces for dyeing, screen printing, sewing, and production.

We also appreciate what the brand chooses not to do. Conscious Clothing builds its collections around simple silhouettes, natural fibers, and pieces intended to stay relevant for years, rather than feeding a constant cycle of disposable trends. Many garments are made only after an order is placed, and the collection has expanded to offer sizing through 4X on numerous styles.

That's exactly why Conscious Clothing belongs at My American Goods®: more than 20 years of American garment making, an actual team of Michigan craftspeople, thoughtfully sourced natural fabrics, and clothing designed with the expectation that you'll keep wearing it.

    Conscious Clothing FAQs

    Who founded Conscious Clothing?

Conscious Clothing was founded by Rose Phillips more than 20 years ago after she struggled to find organic clothing for her children. She began sewing her own pieces using organic cotton, hemp, and linen, eventually building the West Michigan studio that exists today.

Is Conscious Clothing made in the USA?

Yes. Conscious Clothing states that all of its clothing is made in the USA. Most garments are designed, cut, sewn, washed, finished, and shipped from its Belmont, Michigan studio; the yoga line is sewn in California before being shipped from Michigan.

What fabrics does Conscious Clothing use?

The brand focuses on natural, plant-based fibers, particularly linen, hemp, and organic cotton. Specific fabrics vary by garment and include options such as 100% linen, GOTS-certified organic cotton, hemp-organic cotton blends, organic denim, and naturally colored cotton.

Are the garments made to order?

Most Conscious Clothing garments are made to order. The current production estimate is around two weeks, although the brand notes that made-to-order production can generally take two to three weeks and may vary during high-volume periods.

What sizes does Conscious Clothing offer?

Sizing varies by style, but many current garments are available from XXS through 4X, reflecting the brand's effort to create clothing for a broader range of bodies.

How should Conscious Clothing garments be cared for?

The brand generally recommends washing in cold water, either by hand or on a gentle machine cycle, to help preserve color and extend garment life. Many pieces should be laid flat to dry; customers should always follow the care instructions for the individual garment.
