Created by Gale Mayron, Jao Brand grew from a family collaboration with her father, David Mayron, a research and developmental chemist. Their first product, the now-iconic Jao Hand Refresher, began as an answer to a simple problem: how to clean hands while on the go. After years of formulation work, the brand launched in 1997 and has continued to create original, niche products designed to do more with less.
From Goē Oil, Hand Salve, Face Crème, LipJao, Seed Face Oil, BeardScent, Coiffette, Patio Oil, Inscental, soaps, room spritzes, and gift sets, Jao is built around products that feel useful, artful, and highly personal. The brand’s philosophy is rooted in multipurpose design: when one product does many things, customers buy, consume, and throw away less.
