How to use

Step 1: Apply to dry, freshly cleansed, lightly exfoliated skin with our Application Mitt using long, sweeping circular motions. Smooth on evenly and blend thoroughly. Use sparingly around knuckles, knees, ankles, and elbows.

Step 2: Leave on for up to 8 hours. Shower in lukewarm water. Do not use soaps or scrubs.

Step 3: Your tan will continue to develop over the next 8 hours. Use our BEETBUTT moisturizer or our Anti-Aging Daily Tanning Booster to prolong and maintain your tan.

What is processing time?

Processing time is the period between placing your order and the package being handed to the shipping carrier.

Most orders are processed within 2–5 business days, Monday–Friday excluding holidays.

My American Goods® uses a hybrid fulfillment model.

Some products are stocked and shipped directly by My American Goods.
Other products ship directly from the independent American brand or maker.

This allows us to offer a much broader selection of American-made products while supporting the independent businesses that make them.

Who pays return shipping?

Unless we confirm that an item arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect, the customer is responsible for return shipping.

If we provide a prepaid label, its cost may be deducted from the refund.
Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
Return-label rates vary by package size, weight, and destination.

When will my refund be issued?

Refunds are not issued when a label is created or when a package is first scanned. The return must be received and inspected before approval.

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method or as store credit, depending on the item and return circumstances.

Candles and fragrance products

Candles and home-fragrance products cannot be returned because of scent preference. Fragrance is subjective, and natural variations are not defects.

Lit, burned, opened, melted, warmed, or otherwise used products are ineligible for return. Report confirmed damage or defects within 7 days and include photos.

Cancellations and exchanges

Order changes and cancellations must be requested within 60 minutes of purchase. After that window, processing or fulfillment may already have begun and changes are not guaranteed.

The Story behind BeetTan

BeetTan started with one woman trying to solve a real problem for someone she loved.

Founder Michelle Peth was inspired by her red-haired sister, whose lifelong sun sensitivity and skin cancer scares made intentional tanning a serious concern. Michelle wanted a different option—one that could deliver the look of a tan without requiring hours of sun exposure. That personal motivation became the foundation for BeetTan.

But the founder story is just as compelling as the formula story. In 2014, Michelle was a single mom working as a bartender in Savannah when she learned spray tanning as a side gig. When traditional financing wasn’t available, she got her real estate license and used that income to fund the business herself. What began in her living room grew through word of mouth into a brand now carried in 500+ wholesale locations nationwide.

What also makes BeetTan stand out is its product identity. Rather than building the collection around generic bronzing language, the brand centers its formulas around sugar-beet-derived DHA, with self-tanning products that incorporate botanical oils, fruit extracts, vitamins, and moisturizing ingredients depending on the formula.

And Michelle has continued to extend the opportunity outward. Through BeetTan’s spray-tan certification programs, she helps other women launch their own service businesses—passing forward the same entrepreneurial path that helped her build BeetTan in the first place.
