Bomade: Coiffette is Jao Brand’s multipurpose solid oil balm for hands, hair, nails, and dry skin — not a pomade, but a BOMADE®: body + pomade.

Made with a natural base of shea butter, cocoa seed butter, beeswax, and nourishing oils, this soft balm melts into the skin and hair to help tame flyaways, smooth frizz, soften cuticles, and moisturize rough hands.

Unlike a stiff, waxy pomade, Bomade is a solid oil with a flexible, conditioning feel. Use a small amount to smooth fine hair, thick hair, curls, dry ends, or unruly texture, then rub any excess into your hands, nails, elbows, or other dry areas.

How to use

Warm a small amount of Bomade: Coiffette between your fingertips until it softens.

For hair, smooth lightly over flyaways, dry ends, curls, or frizz. Use sparingly — a little goes a long way. Apply to damp hair to help define natural texture, or to dry hair for a polished finish.

For hands and nails, massage into dry hands, cuticles, and nail beds as needed.

For dry skin, rub onto rough areas like elbows, knuckles, or other dry patches.

For scent, apply a small amount to pulse points such as wrists or neck.

Who pays return shipping?

Unless we confirm that an item arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect, the customer is responsible for return shipping.

If we provide a prepaid label, its cost may be deducted from the refund.
Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

When will my refund be issued?

Refunds are not issued when a label is created or when a package is first scanned. The return must be received and inspected before approval.

Candles and fragrance products

Candles and home-fragrance products cannot be returned because of scent preference. Fragrance is subjective, and natural variations are not defects.

Lit, burned, opened, melted, warmed, or otherwise used products are ineligible for return. Report confirmed damage or defects within 7 days and include photos.

Cancellations and exchanges

Order changes and cancellations must be requested within 60 minutes of purchase. After that window, processing or fulfillment may already have begun and changes are not guaranteed.

The Story behind Jao Brand

Jao Brand has the kind of origin story My American Goods® loves: a real problem, a family collaboration, and a product that became original because it had to be. Founder Gale Mayron grew up around formulation through her father, David Mayron, a research and developmental chemist. In 1994, when Gale asked him about cleaning hands on the go, he suggested gelled alcohol — and the two began developing what would become Jao Hand Refresher, launching the brand in 1997.
