Have been trying to find a specific shave soap bar for 2 years and this was the closest I could find. Price hurt my soul a bit but my husband's reaction to it was worth it.

So this is my first experience using a shave soap -- I've only ever used the foam and creams. But this looked enticing, so I gave it a shot.First off, presentation is A+. Whether or not that matters to you, the packaging doesn't look cheap. And it's also quite a lot of soap, I expected the container to be smaller but it's a pretty good size, you get a good amount of soap for your money, and depending on your schedule, it should last you for a bit.I don't have a shaving brush (though I now have one on order after using this), so I had to use my hands to lather it up. Initially I lathered it in my hands and spread it on my face as if I was washing my face, and it didn't really lather up well, basically disappeared as I was applying it to my face. This is when you read the directions -- you lather directly on your face. I tried that the next day and the results were MUCH better, though probably using a brush is the best way to do this.Once applied correctly, it does feel nice on the face and works as well or better than the other products I am used to. I've found it takes a few days to get the amount just right, but probably the same for anyone trying a shaving soap for the first time.Overall, it feels great and works great. It leaves a nice, pleasant scent that lasts for hours (my wife asked to smell my face, that's new...). Also left my face feeling smooth and soft. My stubble isn't that thick and also isn't very plentiful, so your results may vary, but for me, this is a nice new addition to my daily shaving routine. Looking forward to trying out a brush as well (look, you have to get excited about the little things too).The only downside -- the price is a bit steep. But if you're even looking at this, you probably aren't so concerned about the cost, and it should last for months if used properly (at least it will for me, see my comment about my lack of a lot of facial hair above).

I used this without a shaving brush but the shaving soap can be used with or without a brush per instructions. I had low expectations for this but it turned out to be REALLY good. It makes for a very slick face so the razor travels without nicks. I would normally just use bar soap so that's my comparison. This shaving soap is just as good, or even better, than what I'm used to. The scent isn't bad either.All that said, the scent is a little too strong for me, even after washing off as well as possible. I can still smell the fragrance long after shaving. I would easily recommend this for anyone who can tolerate somewhat strong fragrances. Unfortunately, I can't but that doesn't make this shaving soap bad.

This shaving soap is large quality and I assume it can last about 3 months. My husband and I use it and we both love it. I use it for my legs, and him for his face and head. It gives good foam and keeps the skin soft. Very convenient to use. Just fingertips are enough to scoop some soap out of the jar. It smells fresh and pleasant too.
