Many contain ingredients including silicones (check for dimethicone and other ‘-icone’-s) that can buildup and weigh down hair, sulfates* that can remove too much of your hair’s natural oils, and parabens which are used as a preservative in cosmetics which contain water. 

Although these ingredients do have real benefits, and some disadvantages, they are used to remove and replace your hair/scalp’s natural beauty and protection with temporary ingredients. That is why some products work for you and not others. Our natural shampoo/conditioner bar lets your body revive its own natural beauty and protection.

Depending on your hair type and previous product used, you may experience a transition period of 3-14 days. During this time the artificial ingredients from liquid shampoo/conditioners are replaced and re-balance while your body returns to its natural beauty. 

*A quick note on sulfates [like sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and sodium laureth sulfate (SLES)]: although safe to use, it is known they can be drying, especially for people with dry, treated, or Afro hair types and people with dry skin conditions. This is why we avoid using these ingredients in our products.
