This Apotheke 3-wick candle is a large, beautiful candle with a sleek look. The black jar and packaging give it a more upscale feel, and the Charcoal Rouge scent is unique. It has a deeper, warmer fragrance with smoky and slightly floral notes, so it feels more sophisticated than a basic sweet candle.That said, this candle is definitely on the expensive side, so I expected the overall presentation and quality control to be better. I had to return my initial shipment because one of the wicks was missing, which was disappointing for a candle at this price point. The replacement did have all three wicks, but the wax/oil was messy around the lid, rim, and packaging. Because of that, I would recommend being careful when opening and storing it, especially if you plan to keep it in the box or give it as a gift.I do like the size and overall look of the candle, and the scent feels more elevated than many candles I have tried. Apothem makes the best candles. Their aesthetic is clean and elegant and their candles burn long. I'm not a huge fan of the Charcoal Rouge scent (I prefer their more masculine Earl Grey Bitters) but loved the color of this candle so purchased for our bathroom and it's very nice. These are definitely costly but are very high quality.

The wax burns slowly and evenly, and the fragrance throw is excellent.Charcoal Rouge is deep, sultry, and moody. It’s a complex scent that I’ve grown really fond of, especially the combination of smoky and rose notes.This 3-wick candle comes beautifully packaged and would make a lovely housewarming gift. Mine arrived with slightly melted wax, which was unusual (I've ordered several and this is the first issue I've had). It didn’t affect performance, but it’s something to check if you plan to gift it.I also love the vessel. The matte black finish paired with the dark maroon wax fits the mood of the scent perfectly.This probably isn't a universally loved fragrance, but if you enjoy dark, moody scents, it’s definitely worth trying.

I ordered this 26-ounce, scented, soy wax blended candle, and I do not know how the 'charcoal rouge' differs from the 'rouge', but the box and candle I received are labeled simply 'Rouge' (see pics of box front and bottom). I got this for a gift. I could not smell the scent through the wrap of the box or even just the box, itself. I opened the sturdy labeled box revealing an attractive, modern candle container within (see pic). A plastic lid had the scent trapped inside. Once removed, I felt instantly transported to a rose garden. The scent is incredibly and unmistakably rose. The bottom of the candle has a label (see pic). The color of the soy wax is a beautiful deep plum color. Three wicks are appropriately placed, offering an impressive ~120 burn time, according to the listing. I have every confidence this will burn and perform as any high-quality, perfume-grade essential oil scented, hand-poured in the USA soy wax blended candle should, and I think it is a good value.

If you're familiar with the regular Apotheke "Charcoal", this is a bit "softer".I wasn't sure what to expect with this scent - I've tried a number of the Apotheke scents before, but not, that I can recall, Charcoal Rouge.Scents are very subjective, so I'll do my best - to me, this has very soft notes of smoke (like fireplace type smoke), and the rest of the notes of sort of floral or "plant-y". Not like, a vase of fresh flowers, but if you were in a room that had some dried flowers around the edge, and a fireplace going. Hope that makes sense.To me, it leans ever so slightly masculine, but that, again, is a very subjective thing.Speaking to non-scent considerations, the 3 wick candles (26oz) are some beefy candles. Apotheke says the burn time is 140 hours. I haven't depleted mine yet, but that *seems* reasonable, given how it's done so far.It comes nicely packed for presentation. A well finished matte black outer sleeve, and a nice heavyweight weight box with the candle inside. The only thing I noticed was a thin ring of wax around the top of the candle jar - you can see it in photos. No a big deal - can be removed with a paper towel or in my case just dissipated in the first few hours of use.
