Simply Ghee FAQs: Ingredients, A2 Ghee, Cooking & Storage

What is Simply Ghee made from?

Simply Ghee starts with grass-fed sweet cream butter from American cows. The butter is slowly heated so the moisture evaporates and milk solids separate, then those solids are filtered out to leave the golden clarified butterfat known as ghee.

The Domestic Grassfed Ghee uses single-sourced U.S. grass-fed butter, while the A2/A2 Ghee uses butter from a single Lancaster County, Pennsylvania farm.

What makes Simply Ghee's A2/A2 Grassfed Ghee different?

Simply Ghee's A2/A2 Grassfed Ghee begins with butter produced from DNA-certified A2/A2 Guernsey cows on a Lancaster County farm. The brand says the cows graze on non-GMO pastures and the farm follows organic practices.

Simply Ghee also reports that this ghee has been independently lab tested for glyphosate with none detected.

Does Simply Ghee contain lactose or casein?

Simply Ghee states that its ghee is free of lactose and casein. During production, the butter is heated and the milk solids containing lactose and casein are separated and filtered from the finished ghee.

Customers with a dairy allergy or medical dietary restriction should still consult the product labeling and their healthcare professional before use.

What can I use Simply Ghee for?

Ghee is extremely versatile. Simply Ghee recommends it for sautéing, frying, roasting, baking, grilling, spreading, and other everyday cooking. It can be used as an alternative to butter and many cooking oils.

Simply Ghee states that its ghee can be used for cooking at temperatures up to 485°F.

Does Simply Ghee need to be refrigerated?

No. Simply Ghee states that its ghee does not require refrigeration. Customers should keep the jar properly closed and follow the storage instructions provided on the product packaging.

Where does Simply Ghee source its butter?

Simply Ghee says it does not import its butter. Its Domestic Grassfed Ghee is made with single-sourced butter from grass-fed cows in the United States, while its A2/A2 Grassfed Ghee uses butter sourced from a single farm in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
