What part of the mushroom do you use?
By using 100% organic fruiting bodies¹ that are allowed to fully mature, we ensure all of their medicinal properties are potent and active. This also allows our tinctures to be gluten-free.Unless the mycelium² has consumed all grain substrate, mycelium-based extracts end up with high starchy residue, diluting its medicinal content.Fruiting body refer include a mushroom’s cap and stem.Mycelium refers to the web of fibers that produce the fruiting body.
How are your mushrooms grown?
Our mushrooms are organically cultivated and grown in the US. The cultures are grown on oat grains, then propagated on a growing substrate. That substrate contains saw dust and spent organic coffee grounds, as these grounds contain carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, copper, zinc, gold and other trace minerals and nutritiveelements. Our mushrooms are all grown and harvested at the fruiting body stage.
Are your products organic?
All our mushrooms are organically grown or wildcrafted. Our dual-extract tinctures are made with certified organic, non-GMO, food grade cane alcohol.We are working on getting USDA Organic certification.
Are your products gluten free?
All our mushrooms are cultivated in-house or come directly from the US growers and are not processed in the same facilities as other grains, therefore, they shouldn't have any gluten contamination. Although we have not obtained gluten-free certification yet, we have not received any complaints from Fruiting Bodies users with gluten allergies.
Why is there alcohol in your tincture?
We use organic, GMO-free, vegan cane alcohol and purified water in the dual-extraction of the mushroom compounds. The alcohol is important in order to extract alcohol soluble compounds such as triterpenoids that are not extracted through water alone. We use 190 proof cane alcohol because it allows for the deepest extraction without benzene present.
Are your products safe to take with prescriptions meds?
We cannot legally provide you with medical advice and recommend you reach out to your healthcare practitioner. Take caution when using any mushroom products if you are on blood thinning medication.
Are there psychedelic mushrooms in your products?
No! None of these mushrooms have hallucinogenic properties. The functional mushrooms we are working with have a rich history of being used to treat health conditions in traditional Chinese medicine. The benefits of these mushrooms continue to be substantiated by modern scientific research.
