As a lady, I don’t have a beard, but I’ve heard of women stealing their significant other’s beard products to use on their hair. According to the listing, this is also for your hair and scalp, so I thought I’d give it a go. The beard wash is not a shampoo, but I guess I expected it to act like one. Boy was I surprised when I dispensed some into my hand and found I’d had a hand full of runny liquid. The texture is not what I expected. It has a strong tea tree oil smell. I tried to lather it but came up short. I saw a few tiny bubbles, but it was the most minimal lather I’ve ever seen. Rinsing it off was weird. It didn’t seem to come off all the way, and it felt like my hair had a residue or film over it. I didn’t feel this when it dried. My hair just felt soft and smooth afterwards. The oil has more of a mint smell. It also feels a bit runny and has an oily texture. It applied to my hair easily without making it feel greasy. I’d say it has a light moisturizing level. The pomade is thick and has a waxy texture. It melts quickly in my palm, but it feels a bit grotty at first. It’s also moisturizing, but it’s best for smoothing out flyaways. It has a light beeswax smell that I really like. I guess the scents are meant to be rugged. I haven’t noticed a difference in hair growth or thickness, but I like these products. Overall, I’d say this is a solid set. It has a good quality, but not so great value. Even so, I’d use this again.

I got this Johnny Slicks hair and beard grooming set for my husband and he’s been really enjoying it. The multi-use shampoo, oil & pomade ALL smell amazing and masculine with a fresh, earthy vibe that’s not too overpowering. What I love most is that the products are made with organic ingredients and free from harsh chemicals or fillers, so they’re super gentle on his hair and sensitive skin. He has short, soft, curls so a lil bit of the pomade & oil goes a long way without leaving it greasy. I love the smell of these products - cedar, tobacco, with a slight juniper scent. Not overly juniper as so many products that use that scent use too much and make their products too "green - minty" - this a warm "manly" scent with just a hint of the juniper. The pomade is a slightly oily salve type product and the oil is oil... not to much to say about that. But the beard wash is a slightly thin shampoo that also has a great scent. Nice natural ingredients and a small American company owned by a veteran are bonuses that I am willing to pay the extra for as opposed to the mass produced products where you don't really trust the ingredient list. This is a highly giftable "boutique" type product that any man would appreciate. The listing shows that there is a box, however, it does NOT come in a box, just a plastic bag and a little bubble wrap (as pictured). You would have to find your own box if you were gifting it. That is the only thing that I found somewhat disappointing. However, SUPER NICE product and did I mention how much I love the manly scent... let me tell you again.

If there’s one thing my husband is super proud of it his beard, lol (most of his life he’s been unable to grow one). He’s pretty picky about the products he will use and this set fits that quality standard. It has a very warm, slightly masculine smell, but none of the products are overwhelming. They don’t walk into the room before you do. The wash gives a good cleansing without drying out his hair or skin, the oil absorbs really well and doesn’t sit heavy, and the pomade does a good job of giving him a tame, finished look.
