i honestly didn’t know saffron could taste or smell this good. the fullest saffron is rich, vibrant, and incredibly fresh — you can tell the quality just from the color and aroma when you open the jar. i’ve used it in tea, golden milk, and even sprinkled a few strands into rice dishes and it’s always beautiful.it’s also helped me feel more calm and grounded — i’m not sure if it’s placebo or real, but there’s something about using this daily that feels like a ritual and gives me a little moment of peace.love the glass packaging too — it feels premium and thoughtful. definitely worth the price for the quality you’re getting. highly recommend if you’re looking for the real deal.

I am so excited the Strands of Sunshine is back! This saffron is such great quality. The smell is so fragrant and beautiful. It’s the best quality I have ever used. I love making a tea with the strands. Saffron helps elevate my mood when I’m feeling anxious. It also calms my inflammation. It tastes great so it’s a win-win having it as a calming tea!I love adding the saffron to my meals! I love making saffron risotto, herby frittata with saffron or adding it to soups. I’ve noticed that when I incorporate saffron consistently into my routine then my mood is elevated, I sleep easier and I’m so much more focused! I love this product!

After hearing about all of the amazing benefits of saffron for metal health I really wanted to give it a try. Lately I’ve been using this to make saffron tea and honestly I didn’t expect it to do much, but I've been really feeling a mood boost. It’s become a little ritual I really look forward to. Excited to continue drinking the tea and see how I feel after weeks of consistent use!

I am accustomed to cooking with saffron, not using it as a healthy addition to water but this product can certainly be used for both purposes. There are a variety of health benefits associated with saffron and the flavor is delicate and distinctive. This product is excellent and flavorful and although the tin is much larger than the small envelope of saffron threads it holds, the size helps ensure the small precious packet won’t be easily misplaced.The directions for making the water are printed on the tin—15 threads to 1 liter of water. Whether used cooking or to create this beverage I’ve had better luck releasing all the flavor by using a mortar and pestle to break down the threads rather than using them intact. Adding a pinch of salt or sugar to the mortar can help the process but is not imperative.Then I added a couple tablespoons of hot but not boiling water and allowed the saffron to steep for 15 minutes. This process develops a deeper yellow-orange color and liquid more flavorful. To create the beverage add the remaining water to reach 1 lite or use the concentrated liquid in cooking.The beverage instructions state the water may be consumed 8 ounces a day but if used for cooking the concentrated liquid can be used in cooking within a couple of days—store both in the refrigerator. To estimate shelf-life, the saffron has a Best By date 8 months in the future, but dates will vary. Excellent.

Yes, the tin this saffron comes in is deceptively large and when you open the tin, all you have is a tiny, flat plastic bag of saffron threads. However, considering how expensive saffron is by nature, this is actually a pretty decent price for the 2 grams you get even though it can be hard to wrap your head around how small it appears to be.The metal tin is very useful in that it seals out air and light and keeps your saffron fresher. (Do not leave saffron out in light or open air as it will degrade quickly.)Five tiny threads will make a tall glass of potent saffron tea that is very refreshing to drink and contains key chemical compounds that benefit cellular health. (Pour warm water over the threads and allow them to steep for several hours or overnight to fully release their strength.)Think of this as a high quality supplement. Most are willing to pay this price for a supplement that really aids their health and this little bag of saffron houses as much micronutrients as a large bottle of vitamin capsules. Obviously this can be used for cooking as well and you'll be surprised at how much you get from just this one tin. It will last you awhile if used correctly.

Saffron, let's just be honest, is an expensive spice (I looked that up - it is not an herb). So, when this became available I decided to give it a try because I love to make Paella with all fresh ingredients, nothing from a box. For some reason, I think the best part of making Paella is when the Saffron is added to the rice and it turns that natural, beautiful yellow/reddish color.This Saffron does come in a large container, much larger than the .07 ounce of product but if you are using it for cooking you will not be disappointed. This Saffron is probably the freshest that I have ever owned and the most I have ever owned.
