Butter Me Up Organics began in 2008, when founder Jillian was living in Pasadena and struggling to find personal care products that met her standards. After spending $25 on a body butter, she had the thought that changed everything: “I can make this.” That moment became the beginning of Butter Me Up Organics.

Jillian spent the next three years researching ingredients, sourcing, certifications, quality, and formulation, developing every recipe herself with a focus on purposeful ingredients rather than cost. She still handcrafts the products today.

Her commitment extends beyond the formulas. Butter Me Up Organics uses glass, tin, and paper packaging, along with recycled paper, soy inks, sustainable printers, and recycled packing materials. Jillian chose not to switch to cheaper plastic packaging because it conflicted with the standards she built into the brand.
