You'll be disappointed if you really want a "rugged" scent...However, I (and my wife) found this scent very enjoyable. Best way I can describe the scent is, if you smell ALL the fancy candles in a store and after a while they all smell the same...It's a lot like this. Not knocking it, because women seem to really like this and I always smell candles while my wife shops. Very sweet, berry forward but aggressive complexity, something that might be called christmas berry or crisp autumn if it were a candle.Performance wise, no complaints. Works as well as any other oils I have used. I only gave it 4 stars because of the "rugged" claim, which is subjective but misleading IMO. Still great though.

This beard oil smells amazing and more unique than a lot of similar products on the market. My husband tried it and absolutely loved it. The scent stays with you throughout the day and I always catch of whiff of it when I least expect it.The ingredients are nice and the product is moisturizing for course beard hair, while still feeling lightweight and non greasy.So far, there are no complaints for this product!

I'm obsessed (and possibly addicted) to the scent of this oil. I'm glad for it's simply and clean ingredients and one bottle lasts a very long time. Every time my husband puts it on, I HAVE to get a big sniff of him! It's so great. I only gave it four stars though because my husband's skin is still not the greatest, BUT I have to admit that it could be from other things, like his diet or his shaving technique... I'm not sure, but I was hoping the oil would help his skin clear up more. It does help, but it wasn't fullproof, which again, could be from different reasons but I didn't want to give a false impression of the product. Regardless, we both love it and have subscribed to it and will continue purchasing for the foreseeable future! Love it.

Nick, you hit it outta the park. I tried tons of Beard Oils until my Son said “You gotta try this” . I was quite surprised when I found out who the Company was but even more surprised when I cracked open the bottle. Best smelling Beard Oil by far. Every time I go out some Lady will comment on how nice the smell is. The most common remark is this “That’s the most calming smell I’ve ever experienced” which is odd to me but it really is just that. Best oil out there folks.Thanks Nick and Semper Fi!

I decided to buy this beard oil after seeing an Instagram ad for Johnny Slicks and what they stand for. I loved that it's a small business and Veteran owned. When I tried the product, the first thing to note is that it smells amazing. You literally will never get sick of the smell, it's addicting. Secondly, I saw in an instructional video that you can not only use this product for your beard, but for your hair as well. I thought that was a little weird at first but after using it in my hair daily for about 6 months, I can say that this is the healthiest my hair and scalp has ever been!!You know that point when you're growing out your beard (around the 10 day mark for me) when you get all that irritation?? I used this beard oil from the start of growing out my beard and NEVER got skin irritation at all. I've used some other beard oils before but end up briefly using them and coming back to this. If you're on the fence, buy it! You'll never go back!

I bought this product just to try it out. Never heard of these guys. Didn't really know much about the product. When I applied the first few drops onto my hand, I IMMEDIATELY LOVED the smell of the oil!! I literally moaned😂🤣 *THAT * is how amazing this thing smells! I am ABSOLUTELY trying the rest of their products and buying more beard oil!

This oil is not like others where you have a greasy film smeared all over your phone screen from using it talking on it. It’s definitely better quality and deserves the higher price point. I have the original scent, which is hard to describe but it’s definitely better than the “rugged” smell. I think it is the exact opposite of rugged (maybe pine, cedar etc) is true with that scent.

I've only used this several days now but it's way better than the oil o was using and I thought I was using good oil. This has no chemical residue or smell. Recommend!
