Salacia Salts began with an actual dream. Cari Phelps, an award-winning Savannah designer and branding expert, dreamed of creating environmentally thoughtful packaging for bath salts. The next morning, she began researching the idea and discovered that “Tybee” is the Euchee word for salt—an unexpected connection between Savannah’s coast and the natural bath-and-body company she would establish in 2012.

Today, Cari and her five-woman team continue to handcraft the collection in Savannah, combining sea salts with regional ingredients such as Georgia-grown grits, clay, and Southern botanicals. Their creativity extends beyond the formulas to the packaging, including reclaimed cobalt bottles and post-consumer materials designed to give useful objects a second life.

Their Savannah studio is not hidden from the community; it hosts blending bars and workshops that introduce visitors to the ingredients, fragrances, and hands-on process behind the collection.
