WishGarden was founded in Boulder, Colorado in 1979 by a midwife who created herbal preparations for the midwifery community. Herbalist and childbirth educator Catherine Hunziker purchased the company in 1987 and expanded its focus from birth-centered formulas into a broader collection of everyday herbal products.

WishGarden makes its liquid tinctures, herbal oils, and salves in its own Louisville, Colorado facility, rather than outsourcing production. The facility is NSF GMP and USDA Organic certified.

Yes. WishGarden remains independent, woman-owned, and family-run. Catherine and her children are current owners, and her daughter Anna Harshman serves as Vice President of Impact & Development

Not all of them. Many formulas are USDA Certified Organic, and WishGarden’s manufacturing facility is USDA Organic certified. Some wildcrafted and forest-farmed plants cannot carry the same certification, so organic status should be confirmed on each individual product.

Formulas vary, but WishGarden uses whole herbs along with extraction ingredients such as organic sugarcane alcohol, non-palm-derived organic vegetable glycerin, and natural spring water from Eldorado Springs in Colorado where applicable.

Yes. WishGarden became a Certified B Corporation in May 2025, earning an overall B Impact Score of 86.2. The certification independently evaluates areas including governance, workers, community, customers, and environmental practices.
