To get the best burn (and the most value for your money) it is crucial that you properly care for your candle. Always trim your wick before a burn. Cotton wicks should be trimmed to 1/4". Wood wicks should be trimmed to 3/16". If not trimmed, a wood wick can self-extinguish and a cotton wick will pop and soot.
