To celebrate its 10-year anniversary, Under Luna refined two shampoos. These are Warrior Shampoo and Tulsi Bloom Shampoo. The formulas follow the same scalp-first philosophy. Under Luna improved the experience with richer texture, fuller lather, and better spreadability.
We had the unusual opportunity to try the new formulas before launch.
Under Luna sent Randy and me 2 oz samples, and after using them ourselves, we both loved them.
The new versions still feel distinctly like Under Luna shampoo, just more polished and easier to work through the hair.
Why the Under Luna Reformulation Happened
After ten years, reformulating a product people already love is a careful decision. Under Luna did not present this as a complete reinvention. Instead, the brand describes the update as a refinement built from years of listening, learning, and working with the formulas.

This is important for existing Warrior customers. Reformulations can sometimes turn a familiar product into something different. That is not how this one felt to us. The pre-launch sample felt like the Warrior Shampoo we recognized. However, the formula felt more finished.

Under Luna continues to position Tulsi Bloom for balanced and fluctuating scalps, so the role it plays within the collection remains familiar.
For longtime customers, the biggest difference isn't what the shampoo is meant to do, but how it feels while you're using it.
The updated Tulsi Bloom formula has improved texture, fuller lather, and better spreadability.
This means it is easier to move across the scalp. It still feels botanical and distinctive.
The Under Luna reformulation feels especially thoughtful here because Tulsi Bloom already had a devoted following. Rather than changing its identity, the update focuses on making the shampoo more pleasurable and intuitive to use.
The New Under Luna Shampoo Is Now Certified Color-Safe
The Under Luna reformulation also addresses color-treated hair. Products have long used color-friendly ingredients. Now, the refined shampoo formulas are officially certified color-safe.
That adds clarity for customers who color their hair and want an Under Luna shampoo that fits into that routine.

What We Thought After Trying the New Formulas

Before the public launch, Under Luna sent My American Goods 2 oz samples of the refined shampoos. Randy and I both tried them, and we both came away genuinely impressed.
The Under Luna reformulation does not feel like it tried to become conventional. The formulas still feel unmistakably Under Luna. They simply feel easier to use.
The improved lather is noticeable. The shampoos spread well, and the overall wash experience feels more refined. For us, the changes made sense immediately.
