Alamo “1824” Flag – Historic Texian Banner

The Alamo Flag, also known as the “1824 Flag,” is a powerful symbol of early Texas history. This flag was flown by Texian rebels during the Battle of the Alamo in 1836, representing their resistance to centralized authority and their demand for constitutional rights.

The design features the Mexican tricolor with “1824” displayed at the center, referencing the Mexican Constitution of 1824, which granted autonomy and rights to Texas settlers. Its use reflected the rebels’ call to restore those constitutional freedoms rather than reject Mexican governance outright.

This historically significant flag honors the complex origins of the Texas independence movement and the events surrounding The Alamo, making it a meaningful display for historians, educators, reenactors, and patriotic collectors.

Proudly made in the USA, this flag serves as a tribute to a pivotal chapter in American and Texan history.

    Flags Unlimited FAQs

What products does Flags Unlimited offer?

Flags Unlimited provides a wide selection of American-made flags (U.S., state, military, first responder), flagpoles (residential and commercial), accessories, custom flags, and hardware for display and installation.

Are Flags Unlimited products made in the USA?

Yes — the majority of their flags and flagpoles are manufactured in the USA, emphasizing durable fabrics and construction suited for everyday display.

What types of flags can I buy?

You’ll find U.S. outdoor flags, state flags, military branch flags, POW/MIA banners, sports flags, historical flags, and custom flags — with sizes and weather-resistant materials for every use.

What is the difference between nylon and Poly-Max flags?

Nylon flags are lightweight, durable, and fly well in light winds, with vibrant colors.  Poly-Max flags, an advanced polyester, provide superior strength and UV resistance, ideal for harsh weather conditions.

How long will my flag last?

Flag lifespan depends on material and conditions. A nylon flag in moderate weather lasts 3-6 months, while a Poly-Max flag can last 6-12 months in harsher conditions. Flying flags 24/7 or in high winds will reduce lifespan—consider lowering flags at night or during bad weather to extend durability.

What are the rules for flying the U.S. flag?

Follow the U.S. Flag Code: display the flag from sunrise to sunset, unless illuminated at night. Never let it touch the ground, and fly it at half-staff only when directed by the President or your governor. Retire worn flags respectfully—many VFW posts offer flag retirement services.  We also have a bin in our showroom that collects flags needing to be retired.
